| Chessie 5328 leads a short southbound Local at Maxville, Florida in July, 1988. This was my first trip down into Florida and it was nice to see a part of the SAL still alive and well. Notice the Double Pole Lines on the right. One was for Communications, and the other was for the CTC. Today, those Poles are long gone and the Woods have grown right up beside the Signals. The line is busier than ever as it is CSXs primary freight route in Florida. This view looks north towards Baldwin. Chessie Power began showing up soon after CSX became "official" in 1986. |
