Central Vermont 5801
Central Vermont Railway GP38AC #5808 leads this intermodal train north at Ferndale, Michigan in 1995 on Grand Trunk Western tracks. The parent railroad, Canadian National has both railroads in the same fleet colors. The CV line was sold and became New England Central. I took this picture when I was eleven, the year I turned Twelve! Unknown exact date. (Canon AE-1 35mm film camera, Sunpak 611 flash, Konica Super XG-400 print film) WOW! I have discovered that this unit used to be "GTW 1776" painted "Patriotic" Red/White/Blue for the "Bicentennial" in 1976! Here's a photo by Tom Golden of the same unit in 1976: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1887834
