Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) FP10 1150 at South Station in Boston, Massachusetts on an unknown day in April 1979, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Originally GM&O F3 885A (c/n 4998) built on EMD Order E857, later ICG 1620, it was retired in 1977, rebuilt for the MBTA by ICG's Paducah Shops in 1979, retaining its steam generator and 1500 horsepower rating. It was later equipped for HEP. All the FP10's were out of service on the MBTA by the end of 1991. This unit then made its way to the Nebraska Central. Not many railroads had poling pockets installed on the anti-climbers of their F-units. |
