Fifty-four seat coach 5436 was manufactured by Budd in 1946 as Pennsylvania Railroad 4056, and retained the same number on the Penn Central. It was one of 27 cars built for New York-Florida service on Atlantic Coast Line trains: nine ACL (216-220, 224-227), six RF&P (801-806) and 12 PRR (4046-4057). All but one of the cars (PRR/PC 4054) went to Amtrak as the 5408-5416 and 5420-5436. The 5436 was photographed on the northbound PANAMA LIMITED. |
