Sixty-seat coach 6075 was originally Pennsylvania Railroad 4066 and kept the same number on the Penn Central It was one of twenty 52-seat coaches built by Budd in 1947 for service on Seaboard Air Line trains between New York and Florida: twelve SAL, ten PRR and eight RF&P. One of the RF&P cars was retired in 1970, but all of the other cars went to Amtrak. This car was initially assigned Amtrak number 5288, but Amtrak increased its capacity to 60 seats and numbered it 6075 instead. (approximate month) |
