Florida Central CF7 53 running on the former Atlantic Coast Line's Gainesville to Brooksville mainline which is now operated by the shortline Florida Northern Railroad. The locomotive is crossing the CSX CSX "S-Line" mainline aka the Wildwood Sub at-grade. It is heading back to the yard, the former ACL yard just North of downtown Ocala, FL. To my right, out of frame is Ocala Union Station, where the ACL and SAL and later SCL and Amtrak stopped until 2004. You can see the platform and one of the supports for the canopy on the right. The Juice Train derailed here a few years back and destroyed the canopy, which is no longer needed since passenger service ceased. Note the conductor leaning back and sticking his leg out the window. Kinda just chillin out. |
