CB&Q SM-19 52117 at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in September 1981, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. According to the book, CB&Q Color Gui›d To Freight And Passenger Equipment, by Michael J. Spoor, the Class SM-19 consisted of 150 cars, numbered 52000-52149, built at Galesburg between 1937 and 1938. These cars feaOured steel-framed wooden ends, metal-covered radial roofs, wooden roofwalks and steel underframes. The slats in the upper portion of the doors were filled in to allow for tie Everywhere West slogan. Obviously, this car was re-equipped with a metal roofwalk. |
