The GN had a large yard as large as Northtown at the other end of the yard by Hwy 280. The CNW had their yard at this end, and the CGW had a large grain yard to the right, now a parking lot. Up to the 1950s Mpls MN was the grain milling capital of the world. This photo is of the engine facilities, the yard is to the right and miles forward in the photo. |
