Generators?
These two generators ( I'm guessing here) are sitting downtown Aberdeen NC on the ACWR Wye. It's odd that CSX would bring this type of load up the S line when it is a dead end North of Raleigh, no reason for it to travel North unless Progress Energy is replacing something at the nuclear plant South of Raleigh. Or it could be a re-route, got mixed in with something for ACWR. Not sure though. I don;t think the trestle in Pinehurst could handle this tonnage either... besides, there isn't anything on ACWR that requires this equipment. But, stranger things have happened.

Allen Jenkins General These are two identical heavy transformers. They will probably be trans-loaded onto a multi-axle lowboy at this location. The 8-axle yellow car is probably closer to what the load required, the 12-axle blue car is then, bigger than needed. The trestle is rated for a gross load restriction, however the gross axle load rating of these cars, is the same as any other car. 3/1/2012 9:35:12 PM

Donnie Shaffer General These two "Super Flat" units were located next to Union Station (which is also home to the Sandhills Central RR Club) in Aberdeen, NC. I spent over an hour taking snap-shots of both CTHX 007 and QTTX 130602. This was the stuff that I thought only existed in elementary school books that I had read as a child!!!!! 3/8/2012 2:41:32 PM
