Two of the newer GE ES44AC-H's shoving a coal train through the mountains between Casparis and Indian Creek. Why is it so dirty looking already you ask? Well you'd get dirty too if you got put on the back of these coal trains. Note the metal box on the ground. That is a grease box which puts grease on the train wheels for less friction on curves. Friction shortens the lifespan of both the wheels and the rails. |
