Normally the most boring railroad in Kansas City is actually something to look at today. On the left is an autorack transfer bound for BNSF Argentine from NS Voltz Yard behind a pair of SD40 family EMDs. The leader is Ex-PRR 6056, later rebuilt to Dash-2 specs, while the 2nd unit is Ex-CR 6399, originally built as a SD40-2. On the right is a yard job with High Hood GP38-2, Ex-SOU 5231. In an area usually dominated by wide nosed GEs, this is without a doubt the coolest group of engines I've seen on the NS here in a while. |
