UPP #2066 power car
Union Pacific 150th Anniversary Train. UPP #2066: Power Car, Former Car No. 903677, Built by St. Louis Car Company in 1960, This is a new power car and has roughly twice the power capability of the UP’s existing power cars. It should be able to handle a 17 or 18 car passenger train by itself. Currently when they run very large passenger specials, they have to use two power cars, one on the head-end and another mid-train. They will be able to keep this one on the head end of the train and out of the way of the guests. It was built from a former baggage car. The heightened roof houses locomotive cooling fans to dissipate the enormous amount of heat generated. This car is 16' 1" high, slightly higher than a dome car.
