#56-25, the Vermonter  Contributor's Pick!       
#56 heads north through the shade of trees at East Northfield. The Pan AM Southern's Conn River Line, bears off to the right. Originally the Conn River was the mainline, although in front of the engine was originally the Central Vermont main (where the train is coming from), owned the line north from here to Brattleboro where B&M and then Guilford (Pan Am) took over ownership to Windsor, Vt until 1988 when CV took over full ownership.
