Built in June 1951 as MKT RS3 1701 (c/n 78892) it was repowered by EMD during October 1959 with a 16-567C prime mover, which required an EMD long hood to clear the diesel block. The electrical equipment remained GE, so the locomotive was rated at 1500 horsepower. This is the rear of the unit. |
