The Sydney Monorail was opened in 1988 as a 2.2 mile (3.6KM) circle connecting the central business district with the newly re-developed Darling Harbour tourist area. Eight stations are operated and the trains make a counter-clock-wise cycle on their 25-year old line. The Monorail will be closed in June 2013 and dismantled due to age, limited route and expansion of a modern light rail system. This train is shown as it approaches the Harbourside station. |
