Elba, Alabama Depot
Date appsoximate. This is the scene at the westernmost point of the now abandoned portion of the Elba Branch in rural southeast Alabama. A flood in 1990 washed away most of the buildings in this photo, including the railroad office. However, the railroad was long abandoned by that time. This office design was also used for the depots at Enterprise further east on the branch, and Brundidge on the Dothan Subdivision. If you look closely you can see a small motorcar hiding behind the telephone pole.
