David Friedlander General Southern still ran passenger service in 1987? 5/31/2013 6:06:11 PM
Robert Farkas General so much for side-of-the-road running usually being streetcars. Good catch. 5/31/2013 7:44:32 PM
Bryan Smith General I remember seeing this. The night before they actually ran a turn from Albany to Americus using this equipment and I was at the old CofG yard office when it came by headed north. There was an eastbound and westbound mainline in Albany that by the 1980's were just 2 more yard tracks although they retained their names from the past. They loaded the train this particular evening at the old passenger station and came storming out on the westbound mainline headed to Americus. Some of the old timers said it reminded them of the Seminole or City of Miami storming out of town. 6/2/2013 8:43:09 AM

David Friedlander General I refreshed the page and it posted the comment a second time. Sorry. Bernie explained it as New Georgia Railroad. I never knew someone other than Amtrak was running cars this late in the game. You learn something everyday. Thanks for sharing this photo! 6/2/2013 9:31:10 AM
Olaf Junges General Outstanding photo! 6/3/2013 7:49:31 AM
