On my way home from work, I flipped on my scanner and heard the dispatcher giving train Q693-25 track authority to head south towards Greenwood, and then eventually Waycross, GA. I parked just up the street in a parallel parking spot and hiked down to the West Main St. Crossing to photograph it. About two minutes later I could see the headlight of the lead unit rising on the slight grade out of the Spartanburg Tunnel. A moment later it passed through the lens of my camera. I was very surprised and pleased with the outcome. I think it's pretty good for a spur of the moment photograph, don't you think? On a historical note, the building to the right, Spartan Automotive, was formerly the Spartanburg ACL depot.
