This car - along with all the other of the "new" Reader's cars (except for two) - has no "heritage." This car, along with all the other short "wood" passenger cars at Reader, were built on steel-framed logging flat cars by the "new" Reader Railroad from the mid1970's up to 1986. They did a very nice job making them look like period cars, but they are not period cars. The only two passenger cars the "new" Reader had that were real passenger cars were the exMC&SA wood combine and the steel exRock Island commuter coach, which was a leftover from the old Reader. I didn't see any pictures of those two cars associated with the Reader page. I differentiate between the "old" common-carrier Reader, owned by Tom Long prior to the early 1970's, and the "new" tourist Reader, owned by Richard Grigsby after the early 1970's.
