This 1906 Alco built "Atlantic" type locomotive rolls through Peru, Indiana on this unspecified winter day. Not one of the better designs for the mountainous part of the C&O, it must have worked well in the flatlands of Indiana. Max Miller is credited with the photo. Thirteen of the 20 locos in the group remained in use unitl 1949 - tribute to their abilities. Always like posting photos from my home state! |
