Looking towards downtown Minneapolis  Contributor's Pick!
We are at a lone spur track which marks the western end of what once was Great Northern's Cedar Lake yard. Today it is all that remains of the many tracks that once could be found here. We are looking east towards downtown Minneapolis from this spot on the BNSF Wayzata Sub. Note the old deck girder bridge in the upper right corner. It is amazing the BNSF chose to dump these here rather than send them for scrap!

M K General Back in 2008, I checked out the date the rails for that spur were made. In 1945, at the Lackawana steel mill. 11/9/2013 10:38:37 PM
