Steve Sandburg and company have their venerable 1944 Alco burning a fire in her grates that sent a white plume into the air as they wheeled the 2013 fall color trip to Willmar over the BNSF Wayzata sub on this crisp October morning. Here the 261 is passing signal 164. Ahead of the train lies the Louisiana Avenue overpass. I was the only railfan perched up here, happy to report! A dude going south on Louisiana honked his horn in appreciation for the train as it thundered underneath too. |
