CNW 4-6-2 #2909 - Chicago & North Western  Contributor's Pick!       
Here is an example of a 1923 Alco-Schenectady built class E-2 Pacific. A total of 186 were built in a 14 year period making it another large uniform power group on the CNW roster. They all had tall stepping 79" drivers, developed an impressive 225 psi boiler pressure for their 26"x28" cylinders. The engine weight hovered around 295,000 lb and it could produce a medium tractive effort of 45,823 lb. The date is approximate.
