Harry Edmunds General Any idea what they haul. Cement, frac sand or something else? 2/10/2014 11:02:54 AM
Harry Edmunds General I found the answer to my question. Winchester & Western sold these hoppers to Unimin Corp. Unimin provides frac sand to energy (oil) companies. Since Weld County is Colorado's top oil-producing county, I am fairly certain these covered hoppers hauled frac sand for the various energy companies drilling for oil and natural gas in the Greeley area. 2/10/2014 11:31:09 AM
Marty Pfohl General Thanks for the research Harry! yes, that will explain the 'WWUX' report marks -I think the wholly owned WW's have the 'WW' report marks..and, since oil is a profitable business, why these cars are seemingly always in good shape... 2/10/2014 10:34:03 PM
