Kettle Moraine Railway 2-6-2 number 9 at North Lake, Wisconsin on an unknown day in August, 1981, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 9 was built by Baldwin in January 1901 (c/n 18596) for the McCloud River Railway and Lumber Company. It then passed to Yreka Western in 1939, Amador Central in 1944, Nez Pierce in 1945, then Kettle Moraine in 1966. The KMRY shut down on October 28, 2001, partly due to urban development. The town of Merton issued KM Railway two citations for violating the town's junk ordinance. |
