Almost being swallowed up by the locomotive, a crew member checks out something above the leading trucks. This is a fine example of a 1918 Alco-Schenectady built Consolidation with 63" drivers, developing 195 psi for its 27"x32" cylinders. The engine weight tipped the scales at 293,000 lb and it could generate a tractive effort of 61,375 lb. All in the class were retired between 1951-53.
