| CN local has a close call with an inattentive driver in a “quiet zone” as it crosses Washington St., via former C&NW rails, while switching in Menasha, WI on 7 Aug. ’14. The engineer blew the horn when he realized the driver did not see the train and was not stopping, but the truck was on the tracks by the time the driver could stop and start to back up. Both the train and the truck were moving slowly, so the near-collision was easily avoided. |
