PRR 5715 rounds Dairy Farm curve   Contributor's Pick!
The passenger diesels were still new to the property in 1953. The PRR safety department produced a training film about dealing with a fire aboard the locomotive, and this is the "model" train that they used to shoot the movie. Note the charring on the grille behind the engineer from the movie fire that was set for filming. Dad was track supervisor along this section of the Middle Division, and the film director wanted the track to look perfect - look at the line of fresh grey ballast. According to Dad, he had his section crew pick and place every stray ballast rock to get that perfect scene the day before the movie was shot.
