AMTK Diner 8551         
Amtrak Diner 8551 in Chicago, Illinois on October 13, 1987, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 8551 was built by Budd on Job 9624-019, three dining cars for the CB&Q ordered October 1945, delivered in November 1948. Number 8551 was built as CB&Q 194, named SILVER DINER. A total of six dining cars were built on Job 9624, three for the CB&Q, one for the D&RGW, and two for the WP, all assigned to the California Zephyr. The SILVER DINER became AMTK 8051, was converted to HEP in September 1979 and renumbered 8500, was converted to Griddle Diner in January 1987 and renumbered to 8551.
