After following NY 70 for about 12 miles from Canaseraga, the tracks veer away as they approach the Portage Bridge in Letchworth State Park, taking a more direct path than the road. We see 261 just east of Dalton as it starts this approach behind SOO and GATX units with 62 TOFC.
