Delivered 9/1964. The 34 Main Line R36s (9524-9557) were delivered by St. Louis Car between July and September 1964 and were the very last postwar IRT SMEE cars. 9542-9543 are in the New York Transit Museum fleet. These two cars are the very last "Main Line" IRT SMEE equipment in passenger service. 9543 tested Westinghouse E-Cam microprocessor control between 1986 and 1988. This trial program would lead to overhauled R44s and later, the R62s, R62As, R68s and R68As installed with E-Cam.
