NYSEGs Goudy station in Johnson City was the largest, and one of the few, customers remaining on the ex DLW in the Binghamton area. They got about 90 cars of coal three times/week. The trains would come in with road power, which would lay over til the loads were spotted and empties pulled and brought back to the yard, though occasionally the road power would go back to Buffalo on OIBU, with empties going back on subsequent OIBUs. The plant was serviced by Binghamton local WABH 11, which would take a cut of 45-50 cars down to the plant, spot them and return with empties, which were usually staged on track 4 between the Chenango River and CP Johnson. Today we have CR 3336 going to the plant with 52 loads, seen on the DLW main about to cross the river. |
