Tom Kent General The Rear-Facing E8A looks to be numbered 4266 at 200 zoom. Love the old 'Real Photographs' as they don't lose clarity when you zoom in. I lived in the village of Lansing, Illinois in the 50's and early 60's, and remember the PRR passenger trains coming from Chicago and heading south and east towards I don't know where, Pennsylvania, I suppose. I was 12 years old when we left for California in 1964. That was the last time I would see the EMD-E's coming thru town. We were southeast of chicago, right next to Munster, Indiana, and home to the Lansing Airport where it is said that Henry Ford worked on and flew planes out of. A bit of history there. Loved those old Bulldog EMD's........all that power!! It was a young kid's delight to see and hear them come thru town. Our house was just two blocks from the tracks where it crossed Ridge Road heading southeast into Indiana and parts beyond. The good old days! God I miss them! Thanks for the great pictures and the memories. 7/2/2019 8:28:01 PM
