AMTK E8 444         
Amtrak E8 444 at 18th Street in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in May 1979, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 444 was built June 10, 1946 (c/n 3408) as ACL E7 532. It was rebuilt by EMD in July 1953 as an E8m, retaining the original road number. It became SCL 575, then AMTK 233, was rebuilt by Amtrak in May 1974 to E8A-R and renumbered 444, retired in July 1981.
