N&W 1783 at EL River Junction near Hunt, NY. Exact date unknown, but probably summer 77 or 78 (post Conrail)
N&W high hood SD45 leads another N&W high hood and a D&H Alco at River Junction. The train is headed westbound toward the Genesee River (Letchworth) and then to Buffalo. I'm standing on the river cutoff to Belfast and Cuba. The cutoff is unused (perhaps OOS at the time) - it generated no online traffic, was deemed excess by Conrail, abandoned and quickly picked up shortly thereafter. The poured concrete viaduct bases still dot the valley floor in Belfast, appearing much like the dragon's teeth of the Siegfried Line.
