CNJ 4-6-0C #774 - Central RR of New Jersey  Contributor's Pick!       
Built by Baldwin in 1913, this 4-6-0 camelback appears to be the central power of a railfan trip. No date or location were given for the photo but with the help of Randy Kotuby (see comment below), the date & location have been identified. Locomotive specifics - L-7as, 69" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 23x28" cylinders, engine weight of 225,600 lb, tractive effort of 38,318 lb.

Randy Kotuby General I found an image of 774 taken at this same locaiton by Charles Houser that appeared in the Morning Sun Books CNJ In Color Volume 2. This was taken at Atlantic Highlands NJ on 07/11/54. That is Asst Road Foreman of Engines Fred Crotchfielt sitting on the engineers window sill. 7/2/2015 12:02:56 PM
