| The Ronkonkoma electrification project eliminated Pine Aire as a starting point for freights. The new reporting terminal for RF 62 and RF 91 is now Deer Park, with the office being in the old passenger station, seen in the distance at right. The elimination of most diesel trains on the line freed up a bunch of units, and MP 15s are now powering these trains, instead of the C 420s that had been doing the honors for many years prior. A pair of MP 15s is at the new starting point, waiting to go out with RF 62 to Riverhead. |
