UP 8427
UP 8427 - wait, what the heck - Union Pacific running a pusher unit? Dang, I wasnt really expecting it - in fact, the building on the right of the frame is one of the Amtrak Station weather shelters on the platform where Id taken refuge to evaluate how crapped out the lens was getting... only to be interrupted by that Holy crap rumble to say youre about to miss a shot. Oh, sorry, information about the shot... on southbound pusher duty with double-stack out of Seattle, Washington bound for Portland, Oregon in the regions last-ditch effort to keep container traffic alive in the Port of Portland after the big pull-out of ship traffic from the area. Based upon the recent filing from UP with the state of Washington, were about to get several additional UP runs north-south through Vancouver in a possible shift from BNSF to UP with the Bakken oilfields oil-by-rail pipeline to the west coast ports and refining plants.
