According to George Drury (1993), this 1927 Baldwin built American-type locomotive was one of the last three Americans built for any railroad in North America. The loco was finally scrapped in 1953 after pulling the Springfield to Peoria passenger trains for nearly 26 years. Note the interesting diagonal logo plate on the boiler face. No photographer, date or location was given so approximates were used. |
