LIRR Business Car #2038 - Long Island RR  Contributor's Pick!       
Originally built in 1916 for the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western, it was sold to the LIRR and renumbered. Later it would be sold to the Nevada Northern RR and renumbered again to #100. Thanks to the help from Tom Beckett (see comment below), many details and the date has been confirmed.

Tom Beckett General This is the Cannonball-look at the tail sign-a Friday only parlor train to Montauk, originating at Hunterspoint Av in Long Island City. LIRR had parlor cars up til the 90's when the new P30's came on line. It was a pretty nice way to travel to the east end. If I had to put a date on this, I'd say early to mid 60's, prior to MTA takeover in 1965. Location is somewhere in Queens, thinking Rego Park. 1/24/2016 1:50:50 AM
