Nice action shot of a 1930 Lima built 2-10-4 "Texas type" locomotive, a T-1 class member. Note on the back of the photo states "#3021 on 230 car coal train near Russell, KY, Sept. 1936." Definitely had the pulling power to handle the long drag of coal cars! Specs - 69" drivers, impressive 265 psi boiler pressure, 29x34" cylinders, engine weight of 566,000 lb, tractive effort of 95,106 lb. The class was scrapped in 1952-53. Unknown photographer |
