HOLLY. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at HOLLY Block in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, in July of 1960. Shown here is PRR engine #8100, a BS-12 built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1954 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. It is pulling a four-car mixed-cargo freight train on the Bedford Secondary Track, and has just entered HOLLY Block on its way to the Wye Switches and the Altoona Yards. Hollidaysburg's historic "Chimney Rocks" are visible in the distance! |
