SNCF at Chamonix  Contributor's Pick!
An SNCF EMU stops at the station at Chamonix on its way west. This is the road's Saint Gervais-Vallorcine line, a 23 mile narrow gauge (1 meter) line that runs from a connection with the SNCF standard gauge mainline to the Swiss border in the Alps. Most, if not all, of the traffic is passenger with third-rail powered EMUs being used under the "Mont Blanc Express" name.
