Waters. Here is an original telephoto view that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-February of 1966. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2216, #2535, and another unit whose number is not visible. #2216 is an EF-22 built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #2535 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound freight train and are about to round the center of the Horseshoe Curve on a decidedly winter day. |
