East Altoona Ready Tracks, 1966
Waters. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-February of 1966. Shown here are the Locomotive Ready Tracks in East Altoona. Visible on the left is PRR engine #9797, an EF-15A built by EMD in 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. Also visible are other ALCo and EMD locomotives in front of the 17th Street Bridge, as well as the East Altoona Roundhouse and the venerable Water Tower in the distance.
