| Waters. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Easr Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-February of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2204, #2201, #2200, and another unit whose number is not visible. #2204, #2201, and #2200 are all EF-22's built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. They are pulling a westbound TrucTrain that will not stop in Altoona for crew changes. Visible in the foreground is the East Branch of the Juniata River which winds its way through Tyrone and Spruce Creek on its way to merging with the Juniata's West Branch near Huntingdon. Also visible in the distance are various locomotives and rusting rolling stock in the East Altoona deadline. This photo taken from above "The Hole," adjacent to HOMER Tower. |
