PRR 7154, EFS-17M, 1964
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 20 June 1964. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #7154 and #9657. Both were built by EMD. #7154 is an EFS-17M built in 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #9657 is an EF-15A built in 1950 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. They are pulling ~ or, rather, braking ~ a 71-car eastbound coal train down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East.
