CSX abandoned much of this route in the late 1980s. Sections abandoned included Dunbarton to Cope and Florence to Sumter. At one point, SCL operated 4 through freights a day on this route including a local out of Orangeburg. The train numbers were 129, 130, 277 and 278. Prior to Amtrak, SCL ran an east and west bound local type passenger train along this route too. |
