Excursion. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train passing through Frankstown, Pennsylvania, around noon on 17 October 1965. Shown here are the last four cars of the very first "Horseshoe Curve Excursion" sponsored by the Lancaster Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. The switchman's shanty is visible on the left, while US Route 22 is discernable on the right. Also note the "Cool Cats" taking in the view on the observation car! |
