PRR Locomotive Sanding Tower, 1960
Gallitzin. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, during November of 1960. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9542, #9550-B, and #9654. All are EH-15's built by EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9542 and #9550-B were built in 1948, but #9654 was built in 1950. They are parked (with engines off) at the sanding tower at the wye connecting the east- and westbound legs of the PRR's mainline in Gallitzin.
